Palliative care relieves the physical symptoms and supports the psychosocial needs of people with a serious illness. The goal is to help people live as well as possible: This is the same as respiratory therapists' care goals. Palliative care can be delivered by generalists anywhere in the healthcare system. Respiratory Therapists are doing palliative care when they improve quality of life, provide interventions, identify unmet needs, anticipate and support declining function and safety needs. They help people maintain dignity and comfort while they experience decline. Our presentation aims to empower and equip respiratory therapists to have knowledge, resources and education needed to deliver palliative care with their clients.

Learning Goals:
1. Gain knowledge of resources and tools of the Covenant Health Palliative Institute, relevant to your practice.
2. Engage in interdisciplinary palliative care interactive education to enhance your understanding of the palliative care approach.
3. Understand the value of your role in providing interdisciplinary competency-based palliative care.
