Exam candidates must review the CSRT Anesthesia Assistance Exam Manual and ProProctor User Guide before registering to challenge the exam. These important documents reflect exam policies and procedures. Ignorance of policies will not exempt applicants from compliance.

The deadline to apply for the January 28, 2026 exam is January 12, 2026.

Individuals who have graduated from a CSRT-accredited anesthesia assistant education program within the past 18 months are automatically eligible to challenge this exam. If you have not graduated from a CSRT-accredited anesthesia assistance education program within the past 18 months, please contact the CSRT before applying to challenge this exam (csrt@csrt.com).

Applicants for the CSRT National AA Exam will have their eligibility confirmed by the CSRT. Ineligible applicants will receive a refund from the CSRT: an administrative fee ($150 + tax) will apply for refunds.

Once your application is approved, you must schedule your exam time with Prometric. Information on how to register with Prometric will be provided when your application has been approved. In addition to providing writers with the option to write with a virtual proctor, we are pleased to offer the option to attend an approved testing center to write the exam. These are available on a first-schedule-first served basis. Candidates are responsible for costs associated with travel to exam centers.

The deadline to withdraw from the exam is January 20, 2026. You will need to contact both the CSRT and Prometric to withdraw, and administrative fees will apply.

Please note that the CSRT will email results to writers within 90 days of the exam. Results will be communicated as scaled scores and will be reported to the each candidate.

To support AA program quality improvement initiatives, the CSRT will request your permission to share your exam score with your AA education program. You may opt of this on this application.
