Respiratory Therapist - Signing Bonus Available!

Horizon Health Network is currently searching for a passionate individual to join our team as a causal Respiratory Therapist at the Saint John Regional Hospital. Horizon Health Network offers a competitive salary of $31.19 to 38.97 per hour.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Registered with or eligible for registration with the Board of Registered Polysomnograph Technologists OR Registered Respiratory Therapist registered with the New Brunswick Association of Respiratory Therapists OR Electroencephalography Technologist registered with the Canadian Board of Registered Electroneurophysiology Technologists AND willing to engage in the training required to become registered with the Board of Registered Polysomnographic Technologists within four years of starting employment.
  • Ability to attend work on a regular basis.
  • Ability to perform the duties of the position.
  • Good work record.
  • Written and spoken competence in English is required.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

The Polysomnographic Technologist is responsible for: 

  • Reviewing charts and examining orders and protocols for study
  • Interviewing and assessing patients
  • Setting up and calibrating equipment
  • Preparing the patient and performing testing
  • Recognizing and responding appropriately to patient’s medical problems and physiological events
  • Recognizing and documenting clinical and physiological events
  • Troubleshooting and correcting equipment malfunctions
  • Scoring data and preparing reports
