JOB OPENING: Full time Manager/Respiratory Therapist
WAGE: To be negotiated.
Our goal is to provide a wide range of diagnostic and clinical services with rapid report turn-around. We have recently upgraded our ventilation system and pride ourselves on going above and beyond the industry standard for the safety of our patients and staff.
The manager of the Chinook Lung Function Clinic is an experienced respiratory therapist with strong clinical, organizational, and communication skills.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Supervises the daily operation of the clinic
- Perform pulmonary function and lung capacity tests including: spirometry, flow-volume loops, body plethysmography, diffusing capacity testing, respiratory muscle strength testing, pulse oximetry, cardio-pulmonary exercise testing, and Methacholine challenge testing.
- Set-up, calibration, trouble shooting, and maintenance of the pulmonary function testing laboratory equipment.
- Oversight of staffing, scheduling, and payroll
- Maintaining employee records including certification maintenance
- Be knowledgeable about standards and procedures relating to the performance and documentation of testing (including current ATS/CTS standards).
- Be knowledgeable about current CPSA standards of accreditation including the maintenance of policies and maintaining accreditation.
- Monitoring quality improvement programs
- Patient and staff safety, including infection prevention and control.
- Reviewing PFT reports
- Acting as the Clinic Privacy Officer and maintaining up to date security manuals
- Ordering and maintaining supplies
- Paying all invoices
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Registered Respiratory Therapist, eligible to be registered with CARTA.
- At least 2 years clinical experience as a respiratory therapist.
- Current BLS.
- Strong leadership skills.
- Proficiency in computers and strong technical skills.
- Attention to detail and efficient time management.
- Excellent problem solving, communication, and organizational skills.
